Movement missions

Pick the amount of proof your morning needs.

Hard Wake uses movement missions to make alarm dismissal more intentional. Choose Shake for a lighter start, Soldier Walk for getting upright, or Jump when you have opted in and know the space is clear.

EASY

Shake Mode

Give your phone a steady shake for a few seconds. It is the most approachable mission and a good everyday default when you need friction without leaving the room.

Best for Daily alarms, lighter wake-ups, and first-time Hard Wake users.
MEDIUM

Soldier Walk

March in place with high knees. Getting vertical and moving makes it harder to drift back to sleep after the alarm stops.

Best for Important mornings when you need to stand up before dismissal.
HARD

Jump Mode

Jump Mode is the strongest option and is off by default. It only becomes available after a one-time safety opt-in.

Only enable Jump when you have clear space, feel steady, and can hold your phone securely.
Choosing well

The best mission is the one you can complete safely.

A stricter alarm should help you wake up, not push you into a movement that feels wrong for your body, space, or morning condition.

  • Use Shake when you are tired, groggy, or unsure about your surroundings.
  • Use Soldier Walk when you want the alarm to get you upright.
  • Use Jump only after opt-in and only in a safe, clear space.
  • Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, loss of balance, or any safety concern.
Mission FAQ

What heavy sleepers usually ask.

Can I change missions per alarm?
Yes. Choose the mission that fits each alarm instead of making every morning use the same level of movement.
Is Jump required?
No. Jump is optional, off by default, and gated behind a safety opt-in. Shake and Soldier Walk remain available as safer choices.
Do motion samples leave my device?
Hard Wake processes motion samples locally for mission progress. See the Privacy Policy for more detail about app data.
