FAQ
Hard Wake questions, answered clearly.
A focused place for questions about movement missions, trial eligibility, permissions, Companion, Rescue Mode, backup, safety, and support.
Does Hard Wake replace my phone alarm?
Yes. You set your wake-up alarms inside Hard Wake instead of your default clock app. Hard Wake adds a movement mission on top of a normal alarm so it does not fully stop until you prove you are awake.
Why does Hard Wake need permissions?
Alarms rely on phone settings like exact alarm timing, notifications, full-screen alerts, sound, vibration, and battery behavior. Hard Wake guides you through settings that help alarms appear clearly and on time.
Is Jump Mode safe?
Jump Mode is off by default and only becomes available after a one-time opt-in. Use it only when jumping feels safe, the floor is clear, and you can hold your phone securely. Prefer Shake or Soldier Walk when unsure.
Is there a free version?
Hard Wake is currently subscription-first. Eligible store accounts may be able to try Premium with a 14-day free trial before the subscription renews. Apple or Google shows the current price and trial eligibility before purchase.
What does Premium include?
Premium includes unlimited alarms, movement missions, Awake Check, Reliability Check, wake routine tasks, task check-ins, wake history, streaks, cloud backup, restore support, and Companion features when enabled for the release.
What does a companion see?
When Companion is enabled, an accepted companion can receive selected missed-task alerts based on your settings. You choose whether task titles are visible. Companion is optional, invite-based, and not continuous observation.
What is Rescue Mode?
Rescue Mode is an optional setting for pre-approved actions after a missed confirmation and inside your rescue window. It can request confirmation, ring again, send a louder message, or trigger a harder mission when allowed. It is not an urgent-response service.
Can I back up my alarms?
When signed in, Hard Wake can save a cloud backup of supported alarm settings, labels, repeat days, mission choices, routine tasks, app settings, wake history, and protected wake-flow state.
Does Hard Wake work when my phone is locked?
Hard Wake is designed to show a full-screen alarm over the lock screen where your phone allows it. The Reliability Check helps you review settings that make this smoother on your device.
Can support cancel my subscription?
No. Subscriptions must be canceled through the Apple App Store or Google Play account where the purchase was made. Deleting a Hard Wake account does not cancel store billing.
Is Hard Wake for emergency, medical, or safety-critical use?
No. Hard Wake can support waking routines, but it should not be used as an emergency, medical, caregiving, monitoring, or safety-critical service. Keep backup plans for important events.
